Stittco Utilities NWT Limited operates a piped propane system that serves residential and commercial customers in Hay River. Due to the availability of other forms of heating fuel in Hay River, Stittco faces some competitive pressure as customers can choose to heat their home or business with other forms of energy, such as wood or heating oil.
As a result, the PUB takes a light-handed approach to Stittco by regulating on a complaints basis only.
